Prayer can work miracles, as has now been found out by American and Korean doctors in an amazing study: Silent prayers apparently helped infertile women to become pregnant - although it was not the women themselves, but total strangers who asked God for help in fulfilling their wish to have children.
199 women had themselves artificially impregnated. Half of them belonged to the test group. Total strangers were given pictures of these women and prayed repeatedly for them to become pregnant.
The result: "Fifty percent of the women in the test group became pregnant, as compared to only 26% in the control group for whom nobody prayed", confirmed study director Dr. Rogerio Lobo, Chief Gynaecologist at the Columbia University (USA). The doctors have no explanation for the phenomenon. "We actually conducted the study simply out of curiosity, nobody has looked into this before", said Dr. Lobo. Since the women did not know which group they belonged to, they could not have felt better and therefore become pregnant by knowing that they were in the prayer group. The controls of the study also complied with the highest statistical requirements, so that any manipulation could also be excluded. (Quoted from a German newspaper)
